The LRA Silicone Hypersensitivity Block is a test that detects delayed hypersensitivities to:
LRA by ELISA/ACT® tests uses a breakthrough technology that allows the laboratory, for the first time, to observe immune reactions of specialized white cells (lymphocytes) just as they occur in your body. By looking directly at lymphocytes, the LRA detects all three types of delayed food and chemical hypersensitivities, type 2 (includes IgA, IgM, IgG), type 3 Immune Complex, and type 4 T cell-mediated.
The LRA Silicone Hypersensitivity Block should be considered when patients present with concerns over possible implant component sensitivity or are looking for helpful information before proceeding with implantation.
Examples of symptoms commonly reported
The Test Results include information on the following:
Avoiding reactive items can break the cycle of impaired defense and repair, allowing your body to start the recovery and repair process.
Patients with strong reactions should avoid strong reactors for six (6) months to help reduce the burden on the immune system and restore the body’s ability to repair.
Patients with moderate reactions should avoid moderate reactors for three (3) months to reduce the burden on the immune system and restore their body’s ability to repair.
LRA Silicone Hypersensitivity Block also comes with nutritional, supplemental, and behavioral recommendations based on the patient’s answers on the health assessment questionnaire.
Note: This test cannot be ordered for patients under 2 years of age.
This test measures delayed hypersensitivities to silicone and 18 other items commonly associated with implants. It cannot be ordered for patients younger than two years of age.
