About the Test

This test detects variations in the KIF6 gene. It identifies individuals with a gene variant associated with an increased risk of coronary heart disease (CHD). Carriers have enhanced CHD risk reduction when treated with statin therapy. This test can be added to any other Boston Heart genetics test. Please be advised that Boston Heart Diagnostics policy states that practitioners are unable to order labs on themselves or their immediate family members.
