This test detects variations in the prothrombin G20210A gene. It identifies individuals with defects in clotting factors. This identification allows physicians to determine the need for more aggressive thrombosis prevention measures for these individuals. Please be advised that Boston Heart Diagnostics policy states that practitioners are unable to order labs on themselves or their immediate family members.
