Zonulin

Zonulin is a glycoprotein that plays an important role in the regulation of tight junctions between cells, which helps maintain proper permeability and integrity of epithelial and endothelial cell layers. Elevated zonulin levels are associated with increased intestinal permeability or "leaky gut," which can lead to inflammation-related illnesses such as allergies, autoimmune diseases, metabolic syndrome, and gastrointestinal disorders.
